When we adopted Howie only a few short months before Owen was born we knew we were taking on the possibility of a lot of added work and frustration during a potentially overwhelming time in our lives. And while that has proven to be true with unexpected knee surgery, a few peeing accidents in the house, pizza and cake stolen from the counter tops, and a never ending supply of hair to be vacuumed up, Howie has proven to be a beautiful part of our little family. He has formed a special bond with Owen that is worth all the frustration in the world. Owen beats up on Howie, pulling his hair, grabbing his ears, yanking on his lips, and sticking fingers in his eyes, but Howie is never anything but tolerant and gentle with our little blue-eyed boy. In fact, we thinkHowie actually enjoys the attention...even if it is a little painful sometimes. And on occasion we let Howie retaliate with a good thorough face-licking. So now that you know a little more about them...enjoy these pictures of a boy and his dog!

Awwwww....!
Adorable. One can clearly see that they are in love! I think somewhere in the scriptures (but at least in one General Authority talk), we are told how important dogs/pets are to a family. I know, some of you are thinking, "then why didn't you let your children have a dog when they were growing up." Can't come up with any good excuses at the moment...sorry!
