October 2008!!!

As if you haven't seen enough videos with Owen and Howie... Enjoy!!! Owen is starting to learn how to play Hide and Seek...except he doesn't quite understand yet that he's supposed to wait until you find him. Owen found this empty duffle bag while Mommy was doing her hair. He went ahead and climbed in and when Mommy found him she zipped him up the rest of the way

Owen now loves to try on Mommy and Papa's shoes!

Mommy is a good sport about doing whatever has to be done to make her little man smile!
Sara and Deven went to a pre-Halloween party last week. The theme was the 80's. We did our best with our costumes.
On Sunday afternoon we went for a walk at the park to enjoy a warm Fall afternoon. Papa ended up getting some good besitos from Owen!
Owen observes everything we do and we don't realize how much he learns until he has the chance to show us. Watch him put things in this mixer...
Last weekend we went to a local pumpkin farm with some friends from church.
We climbed a big pile of straw...
Went on a hay ride...
And Owen road his first pony (with a bag of Fruit Loops in his hand that he wouldn't let go of)...
Then we went out to the field and chose a couple of good pumpkins
Can you tell that Owen really digs his Fruit Loops?

Then, for Family Home Evening on Monday night Sara and Deven carved the pumpkins (after we put Owen to bed, of course. He has many more years to participate in these festivities).

Care to venture a guess which one is Sara's and which one is Deven's?

Back, again!

It's no secret by now that Howie is Owen's BFF.
Owen and Papa love to play silly games.
Owen has discovered french fries and ketchup...Ronald McDonald would be proud.
Grandpa and Grandma Howard came to visit in September. They had fun playing with Owen at the play area in the mall.

Our friends David and Cristy Sanders had their new baby girl on Sept 13th. This little angel's name is Isabel.

Girls have cooties! Owen just hasn't figured that out yet.

Owen and Mommy had lots of fun playing with the Jack in the Box that grandpa and grandma Howard gave him.

Owen is ready to go on his first elk hunt!

Mommy has been trying to teach Owen how to color. This was one of their first attempts...he has gotten better.

Natasha visit...

Aunt Natasha visited shortly after Aaron and Shantel's visit. We had so much fun with her. She has posted pictures of her visit on www.happyhowards.blogspot.com

Aaron and Shantel visit!

Aaron and Shantel visited us in early July. We had a fun time hanging out with them while they got to know Owen.

Alligator Pool!

Aunt Brynne sent Owen a very special birthday present...a really cool alligator pool!!! We filled it up in July and Owen had a blast swimming in it with mommy and daddy. Don't let Owen's whimpers at the end of this video fool you...he had so much fun!!!

Thank you so much, aunt Brynnie!

4th of July, 2008

We had a fun 4th of July this year. A number of families from our church met at a local park where the kids played and the adults visited. We had a potluck barbeque that was delicious. This is a picture of our new friend Breanna and mommy!

David and Cristy Sanders and their kids joined us for the picnic and fireworks as well.

Owen's Cabinet

Owen has his own cabinet in the kitchen where mommy stores his toys. As you can see, he enjoys gaining access to this cabinet...

Catching up after a long break!

It has been nearly two months since we last posted any new pics or videos. The following are an attempt to do a little catching up...

Owen has recently revealed that he loves the reggae beats of Bob Marley. Watch him get down!

Owen loves his new Superman hat! It's the only one he will wear without taking it off.

Owen is going to be on the US Olympic Soccer team in 2028. He has already begun his training!

Owen is such a clown!

Owen in Action...

This was Owen's first time trying to eat out of a bowl. Prior to the video beginning he discarded his spoon in favor of a more primitive eating style...

Owen received a cute Little People train for his birthday a few weeks ago. He has learned how to press the button to make the music play. Now he presses it all day long and has started to jam with the beat...or at least he tries...

We have shown you a number of other examples in the past of how Owen likes to beat up on Howie. Here is a new one... Poor Howie!

Mommy and Owen took a few minutes to bond on a Saturday morning...

Howard genes

Until recently Owen showed very little resemblence to the Howard side of the family. However, there is no longer any doubt that he is a Howard...Take a look at that gap!

Sorry about the up close and personal view of Owen's boogies!

Earning his allowance!

We decided that Owen is old enough now to start earning his keep. He has committed to helping around the house to keep it clean. This was his first assignment...we think he handled it pretty well!

Little Red Wagon

This was Owen's Birthday present from Grandpa and Abuelita Daigle. Owen will have a very fun time being mischevious and adventurous in this wonderful Red Wagon. It is really cool because it has real rubber tires for off road capability! What more could a little boy ask for!

Thanks, Grandpa and Abuelita!

¡Feliz cumpleaƱos!

On Saturday June 7th we celebrated Owen's 1st completed year of his very special life. We were lucky to have special people with us that day: Aunt Kathy came to visit from San Francisco and David and Cristy Sanders were their with their kids, Nicholas and Gillian. Aunt Kathy made delicious chicken salad sandwiches for everyone and she also decorated all the cupcakes that she and mommy made together. Kathy spent lots of time giving each cupcake its very own special design...including Target, Wal-Mart, and K-mart cupcakes.

Owen doesn't usually get sugary treats like frosting covered cupcakes, but, as you will see, he took advantage of the opportunity when one was placed before him.

It was a fun day thanks to mommy's planning and great company. We look forward to many more celebrations!

Owen ready to explode!

Owen does this new thing where he tenses up his whole body and grunts...and, no, he is not working on filling his diaper. He is much more quiet about that.

A one sided love affair

The love affair between Owen and Howie continues... However we suspect sometimes that it may be one sided as Owen beats Howie up on a daily basis. However, Howie does get in his share of the "licks"!

The training wheels are off!

Owen started walking about two weeks ago. He began with just a couple of steps at a time. Now he walks all over the place! So these videos are actually a few weeks old now.

Hanging out with Mommy is so fun!

My mommy is teaching me how to swim. The only problem is once she gets me in the water I won't let go of her. That's because I know I'm safe in her arms! After dinner I help my mommy wash the dishes. But for some reason she won't let me wash the knives...
When mommy bakes bread I wait patiently next to the bucket full of flour for that brief moment when she isn't paying attention... That's when I make my move! I grab a hand full of flour and try to eat it as fast as I can. I guess I can't say that I didn't do it. She'd never believe me. After all the evidence is all over my face! When mommy gets down on the floor to play with me I like to run my fingers through her hair. That's cuz her hair is so silky soft. Papa says it better be silky soft cuz her shampoo is so expensive!
